EvaRIO

Since early 2000, the development and the coordination of large research infrastructures has been increasingly recognized by the European Commission as an essential pillar of the building of the European Research Area, and hence of a competitive and dynamic European knowledge based Economy, as defined by the Lisbon summit.

EvaRIO (Evaluation of Research Infrastructures in Open innovation and research systems) is a Coordination and Support Action project funded by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme (grant N° 262281 - Research Infrastructures INFRA-2010-3.2).

This 2-year project aims at developing an evaluation framework and a set of specific evaluation methods and tools well suited to research infrastructures (RIs) in the currently changing context towards an open innovation and research environment.

EvaRIO is conducted by the Bureau d'Economie Théorique et Appliquée (BETA, Research Centre in Theoretial and Applied Economics), a joint research laboratory of the University of Strasbourg and the French National Centre for Scientific Research.
