About BETA

The BETA (Bureau d'Economie Théorique et Appliquée) is a joint research laboratory of the UdS (Université de Strasbourg) and of the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). Created in 1972, it now includes 160 researchers (2/3 permanent and 1/3 PhDs and postdocs) and is one of the leading research centres in the field of economics and management science. It has developed the so-called "BETA approach", which has been extensively used for an ex-post evaluation of some of the economic impacts of a large variety of programmes launched by public authorities to support research and innovation.
